My 90-year-old mother-in-law was visiting and she said she really wanted new slippers for her birthday. She has had a bad ankle for 66+ years and needs supportive footwear as she falls a lot. Valentina helped us and she was absolutely wonderful! She suggested an orthopedic slipper and Mom loved them as soon as she tried them on. She was concerned that although the size 7 fit perfectly, she usually wears an 8. Valentina quietly brought out an 8 for her to compare and it was too big. When we got back to my house, Mom put the slippers on immediately and she started crying as she said she has “never had such a supportive shoe/slipper in her life” and “you don’t know how much this means to me.” Thank you, Valentina, for making her 90 birthday gift so special! Mom was talking about her new slippers every day while she was here.

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Hawley Lane Shoes in Danbury CT. While the impressive range of top-notch brands certainly caught my eye, what truly made the visit exceptional was Mary McGlasson, the store manager. From the moment I walked in, visibly overwhelmed by the vast selection, Mary stepped in with confidence and warmth. Despite the store being busy, she took the time to introduce herself, listen to my needs, and guide me through the process with ease. I was particularly intrigued by a machine that analyzes your foot and recommends custom insoles for optimal support. Mary’s expertise shone here—she was clearly well-trained and knowledgeable, explaining the technology in a way that put me at ease and built trust. We then moved on to everyday footwear, and with her guidance, I ended up with two pairs of sneakers that are hands-down the most comfortable and practical shoes I’ve ever owned. Mary’s not just a manager by title; she’s a natural leader. Her dedication, passion, and genuine care for customers are rare and remarkable. She’s now my 4-ever “shoe lady,” and I can’t recommend her highly enough. If every store had a Mary, shopping would always be a pleasure!

Just bought a great new pair of on clouds at Hawley Lane in Norwalk. Maria was so helpful and actually measured my foot which is rarely done nowadays. Turns out i needed a different size than my last pair! Definitely recommend!

This was my first visit to Hawley Lane and It was both informative and helpful. Having little to no knowledge of proper footwear, it was a pleasure to learn from “Sam” my sales person. She took extended time, explained the benefits of correct shoes and recommended a specific brand. I literally walked out of the store with new shoes and a new outlook as how to care for my feet. Sam was wonderful; answered all my questions and took as much time with me as needed. If you need corrective shoes or any shoes….run don’t walk to Hawley Lane!

Her approach was professional, patient, creative, courteous and knowledgeable. The quality of customer service she provided was extraordinary. The atmosphere at the store is pleasant with the manager and other staff helping each other and working together efficiently. In addition to the great selection of comfortable, well-made shoes, Tonge is another reason we are looking forward to returning to the store.

I visited Hawley Lane shoes with my 84 year old mother when I was in CT. Laura helped us with our purchases. She was the BEST sales person I have encountered in years! Everything about our experience was perfection. She was patient, respectful, knowledgeable, caring, and even stayed on beyond her shift time to make sure that we were taken care of without our knowledge. I am from Florida and have family and friends who live in CT. I have told everyone in CT to go to this store because of my experience with Laura and the huge selection of the best shoes that are extremely COMFORTABLE AND GREAT LOOKING. Unfortunately, during our visit my mom lost her hearing aid and we returned the next day to look for it the next day. Laura approached our visit with the same care and concern that she did the previous day. I would give her a 10-star review if I could. Employees like these are hard to come by. I hope that Hawley Lane realizes what a gem they have in her. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE FOR US. I WILL SEE YOU ON MY RETURN VISIT TO CT!

I have been traveling from Fl and needed new tennis shoes. From the moment I walked in the door I met Donna. Donna was very personable and professional and took great care of me with suggestions along with her own experiences with brands that she’s worn herself! Donna is a true asset to the Hawley Shoe store. It was so nice to finally walk into a store that someone would assist you with the level of customer service that makes the difference! This was my first experience at this store. I highly recommend it. As I was leaving I commented to another shopper what a great experience she’d have. She smiled and said she’s shopped there before and how she too enjoys the personal experience and logged information. Today, Levi stayed measured my 3 school aged daughters for sneakers. He stayed with us throughout the experience. He was friendly and helpful throughout our experience. He brought out options for one daughter who didn’t see anything she liked. She ended up picking his choice 🙂 He was sure to ask them how the sneaker felt in different parts of the sneaker. He was thorough and gave suggestions to me of the fitting. We will be returning to this store for sure! Great selection for adults and a small section for youth.
